Circle Light Fixture

January 7, 2014

http://sewingandsanding.blogspot.com/2014/01/circle-light-fixture.html#more

Have  you seen these awesome light fixtures ?

I love them and started  brainstorming some ideas. As it turns out,  I am not the only one that  had the same idea.

Unfortunately,  I didn’t find this little gem at Dear Emmaline , until after I had already run some trial and error.
So…   I would suggest  using  her tutorial,   it is  much  more detailed,  but here is the process I took.

You will need 2 SETS  of the same size hoops.  They  come in a variety of sizes.  So you can choose the size that fits your space.

I would suggest using spray  primer on the hoops before attempting to paint.

I decided to use spray  paint, instead of staining the hoops.  I wanted the hoops to look like   cast iron.  This was the best idea  I could come up with.  I love all the amazing things that spray paint can do!

Pre-drill holes. (This will prevent the wood hoops from splitting.)

Drill in screw to your pre-drilled holes. You will want very short screws,  the ones I used where 1/4″ I believe?

Ta da.  You can take the guts from another light fixture, or you can  do something similar to what Emmaline did.   Ikea carries these cords and they are  only $5.00,  this would be a very simple way to make a hanging lamp.

Good luck and enjoy.

So simple, yet so cool. Haven't seen this part of your house. I love both the crate wall and the clock wall. I really love how you stick to your theme and carry it through you home, it is fantastic! – Doug and Heather

Meet Corey

Hi everyone, my name is Corey, and I have a problem. I can’t leave well enough alone… The best therapy usually involves a variety of power tools. So, in the few “spare” moments I am not entertaining my two beautiful, rambunctious, boys, I can typically be found hunched over a sewing machine and/or covered in sawdust. All in the efforts to create a perfect balance of aesthetics and practicality in our home.
