I have a freaking fantastic stairwell light fixture!
In fact it made it so much brighter that I painted the accent wall a darker color, and I LOVE it.
Sorry there is NO WAY I am going to be able to make a tutorial for this project. They are all custom lengths, and heights.
But the same basic principle can be applied to your own homes. It’s a lot of math, ladders propped in odd positions, near death experiences, and trial and error. But it CAN be done!
That being said, I don’t think I have EVER spent this long on one project EVER! It took weeks of prep work and a few days to install… (Keep in mind the ceiling is nearly 17′ at some places.) It was a lot of work, but it paid off!
Thanks for stopping by!
Corey
Are the lights hard wired into the ceiling somehow?
Yes, there was originally one recessed light directly above the landing. I removed that light and used that source to connect all the pendants.
On the ikea cords I cut off the actual plug, and just hardwired those cords.
Please please please share where your subway art was purchased from? I have been looking forever for how to get signs like this of where we lived and the kiddo and wedding info is an added bonus! What does the wedding sign say and what all facts are listed on the kid signs? Nothing beats wall art like PERSONAL wall art <3
Amanda,
I too had been looking for a place to buy personalized wall art, but was not having any luck. So, I just made them. I used foam core board, and stretched canvases. On the wedding one, I included our anniversary and the place we were married. On the kids ones, it has their birthdays, time, weight, and city. I will put “subway art” on my tutorial to-do list! Thanks for your comment and for reading.
